Arpi Takacs is responsable behind the constant uprising act Atapy, but lets not speed things up when it comes to this guy. Despite the young of his age born in 86 his addiction regarding electronica came early. First as a regular freak in club corners then behind some booths teasing his dj skills. It was time to expand and to take it to the next level. It started slowly and deep as all good things want their spark, first at some smaller labels gaining more and more attention and support from others.
It was 2009 that he started to put more attention on production after a lot of research and musical exposure. Atapy’s skills has been hosted as a guest to many radio shows creating a hype of his sound. Through his own label Cimelde Records, started also in 2009 he released some of his productions with heavy notice and support by people like Dubfire/Laurent Garnier/Ritchie Hawtin/ Kruse and Nuernberg/Gel Abril/Djuma Soundsystem/Someone Else/Jacuzzi Boys/Brothers Vibe and many more.
That was also a burst in to presenting even more high quality instalations between his own productions and of course filtering new ones for Cimelde. In addition and cause of the uprising success of his productions in 2010 reached and started with the same hunger and sucess to work with the great imprint from Germany, Brise Records with his first release called “Sweet Things EP” wich gots a positive reaction and support by great artists aswell.
His royal persona doesn’t stop there, starting other productions and remixing others music. 2011 was a great year for Atapy, getting the possibility to collaborate with the well know duo of the underground electronic music scene Monoroom but lets don’t forget about his latest single Move Baby released on Cimelde wich simply taked him to a possible next big step getting great support by artists like M.A.N.D.Y., Anthony Pappa, Tim Green, Tom Budden and many others. His latest works out on Tom Budden’s ALiVE Recordings called You Should Know EP including remixes by Inxec and JMX wich definitely reached bigger attention by many artists and labels, also having another single EP on Daniel Mehlhart’s imprint on Notes. Now 2012 looks to be a very promising year for Atapy as he already gots a few works out like his remix for Jorge Takei’s single “The Lyon” his new track “From Left To Right” out on a sampler on ALiVE Recordings and upcoming stuffs like a remix for Sasch BBC & Caspar coming on UK’s new label Sleazy Deep plus his brand new EP on Noir Music 2 (NM2) called Remember EP including two of his originals and two other remixes by Inxec & Droog and Kolombo, already getting massive support for all of these. And after the well success of his track Move Baby from the last year, we are ready for his new edit of the tune coming up on Cimelde in the Move Baby Remixes EP including reworks by Sasc BBC & Caspar, Jackspot, Simon Beeston, Thyladomid and Fabio Victor. Okay so we shouldn’t forget about his great party’s and gig requests lately and something new, a real good start for 2012, a collaboration between him and Noir for wich he is really excited and he believes that this gonna has a rising success so hopefully this will do a big push in his career.
So as you can see under Arpi’s sleves are always some hidden ace ready to emerge to many different aspects. One thing is for sure its all about quality and not quantity and things looking very spicy and promising for him. Mark this guy to your calendar for sure something not to miss.
